Thornby 371 Oval Freestanding Bathtub, 150 cm

Set up in a renovation where the old suite came out down to the studs, Thornby 371 plumbs in with a freestanding filler rather than deck-mounted taps, which is what keeps the sides clean.

It is built in acrylic: a reinforced acrylic shell, warm to the touch and light enough for two people to carry up a stairwell.

Delivery arrives crated on a pallet; two people are needed to move it into the room, ideally before the last stud wall goes up. The wear parts are the seals, the rollers and the hinges, and all three are stock spares, not the frame around them.

Care

Wipe down after use and avoid abrasive cleaners on acrylic or stone resin — they dull the finish permanently. Cast iron and copper only need occasional polishing to keep their look.
