Thornby 743 Slipper-Back Freestanding Bathtub, 170 cm

Thornby 743 is 180 litres, raised backrest end — the litre figure is what a soak actually needs, not the outside footprint.

It is built in stone resin: a stone resin composite, denser than acrylic and colder to the touch until the water's been in a minute, but it holds heat noticeably longer once it has.

Delivery arrives crated on a pallet; two people are needed to move it into the room, ideally before the last stud wall goes up. It's built to be serviced in place — hinges and rollers come off with the tools already in most homes.

Care

Wipe down after use and avoid abrasive cleaners on acrylic or stone resin — they dull the finish permanently. Cast iron and copper only need occasional polishing to keep their look.
