Verolux 551 Cast Iron Clawfoot Bathtub, 170 cm

The base of Verolux 551 is reinforced under the standing area, which is where a bathtub actually takes its load.

Delivery arrives crated on a pallet; two people are needed to move it into the room, ideally before the last stud wall goes up.

It is built in cast iron: cast iron with a fired enamel coating, the traditional material because nothing else holds heat as long once the water's in. It outlives the reason it usually gets replaced, which is a bathroom remodel, not a failed part.

Care

Wipe down after use and avoid abrasive cleaners on acrylic or stone resin — they dull the finish permanently. Cast iron and copper only need occasional polishing to keep their look.
